Who knew the stamp set My Friend would make a beautiful Christmas card? The Blossom Petals Builders Punch makes the twist. This is really thinking outside of the box! It actually took me a bit of time to figure out how she did it! (I hope I got it right.)
Roberta Charpentier made this card using a stamp from the My Friend stamp set and adding a couple of hanging Christmas tree ornaments. One ornament has three pearls under it and the other has three rhinestones. A ribbon bow completes each ornament.
To make the ornaments, she punched out two of the leaves from the Blossom Petals Builder Punch three times. Each ornament has three pieces to it, all the same. Each leaf is scored and folded down the middle. The set of three is attached, first side by side, and then onto the card itself, creating a 3D look for the ornament. If you would like more detailed instruction on this, click on the "videos" on the right side bar and watch the video called "Creative Tree Card with a Punch".
Isn't it fun to see a new twist on a punch or a stamp set? Thats one of my favorite things about paper crafting and stamping; you never know what you will find around the corner. Stampin' Up! punches are fabulous for thinking "outside of the box". Cards like this inspire me to think about what else I can do with what I already have sitting on my shelf ………or on my table, or by me chair….you get the picture!
If you enjoy this card idea for Christmas and think its too late for Christmas ideas now, just think about all of the other ideas you can use with this set. After all, its not even a Christmas set!
