Are you ever at a loss when it comes to what to put on the inside of a card – especially when you don’t want to write a lot? I like to collect different ideas for poems and sayings to use when the situation is right.
I received this lovely Christmas card from Diane Olivi with this Rubber Stampers’ Christmas carol inside. Do you recognize the familiar tune?
Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the inks look so delightful
So while the winter is cold and damp
Let us stamp! Let us stamp! Let us stamp!
It doesn’t take much convincing
And I’ve bought a tool for crimping
Choose some paper, turn up the lamp
Let us stamp! Let us stamp! Let us stamp!
When we carefully press just right
How we smile as the image unfolds
Add some color, so bold, so bright
The result is a sight to behold!
Our projects are quickly drying
And there’s new techniques for trying
So until we get finger cramps
Let us stamp! Let us stamp! Let us stamp!
Can you relate to the thoughts in this carol? Have fun sending it to your favorite fellow crafters!
Assuming that you have your cards for this year already stamped and in the mail, this is a good time to start saving any ideas like this to use for next year.
The card itself is made with a single stamp sold in the A la Carte section of the Stampin Up! catalog. Something for Christmas (p. 19 #122907 $9.95) has the words and the Christmas ornaments on the same stamp. Diane stamped it in Cherry Cobbler and added some Cherry Cobbler Scallop Dots Ribbon. The background paper is from the Well Worn designer series paper.
