Do you like stories? Today I have a special stamping story and a special hand stamped card!
First, the story:
A woman who stopped by my booth at a craft fair shared this with me. She has a granddaughter who lives in Arizona, a long way from here in Minnesota! Ever since her granddaughter had been born, this woman had sent hand stamped cards to her for every birthday and for every holiday. This year, her granddaughter turned six, and for the first time, this woman was so busy with traveling that she actually sent her granddaughter a store bought card. She hated to do it, but she also thought her granddaughter wouldn’t care.
When her granddaughter opened her card, she sat and quietly looked at it for a long time, and then she turned to her mom and asked “Is grandma sick? Is something wrong?” Her mother said “No, I don’t think so. Why do you ask?” Her daughter replied “Then where is the card grandma always makes for me?”
What a precious story for this grandmother. We often don’t know how much the cards we make mean to the recipient. Wouldn’t you like to be remembered like this? “I had a grandma who made cards for me.”
Enjoy this fun card that was swapped at the Fine Line meeting last week:
This beautiful card was made by Colleen Rose. Its very elegant, yet easy to make. I love the Pleasant Poppies stamp inked in Cherry Cobbler with no color added! The frame is from the Four Frames stamp set, which is a set of four stamps that all fit the Decorative Label Punch. The polka dots in this frame compliment the Cherry Cobbler 1/2″ Scallop Dots Ribbon. The elegant “Thank You” is from the Lacy & Lovely stamp set, which also contains two other words and beautiful doily looking stamps. The final accent is the striped paper from the Neutrals Collection Designer Series Paper Stacks.
Don’t all of these elements work beautifully together? I love how the Stampin’ Up! punches, papers, and stamp sets can be mixed and matched to make a card that fits your idea. It helps us all be more creative!
I hope you enjoyed the stamping story I shared today. I would love to hear a stamping story from you! You can either leave it in the comment section below or email me to share it!
