This is the "book box" card holder I made for each of the attendees at my March Card Extravaganza Day.
and the inside looks like this:

The ones I gave them held only the fourteen envelopes since they were at the Card Extravaganza Event to make the cards! There is a video below which will show the entire process.
I love books and yes, I still mean the real kind, the kind you can get cozy with for a good read. Somehow, the word "cozy" never comes to mind when I am on my computer or a Kindle. In true disclaimer, however, I don't own a Kindle so I am just imagining it!
Favorite books are like friends to me so I love this idea of giving a "book look" to my box.
These are really quick and easy to make! Look how many I made in two days! (Of course, I am a procrastinator.)

Doesn't that look like a stack of books? I made this many in just two days, but I wasn't finished yet. Over the next two days I made a bunch more so the total came to thirty-four!
Now what will I come up with for my May Extravaganza Day?
You will want to attend to find out! Its Saturday May 11 in Minnesota. Get on my list for more details.
Enjoy the video:
Now, didn't that look easy? You can see I used a lot of the Parkers Patterns Designer Series Paper!
Have fun with this idea for your gift giving! I think handmade cards are one of the best gifts to give since it is given twice – first to the person you gave them to and second to the person they sent it to! Everyone can use cards and everyone loves to receive something in the mail that is personal (and not a bill!).
….by the way….we can always make something like this box at a party too! Its your party, your way, so always let me know what you are interested in! Just email me with questions!

lovvvvvvvvvvve this! Can't wait to make one of my own!!!!!!
Thank you soooooo much! I love this! I made something like this with the matchbox die but I tell ya… I need creative people like you to think outside the box (no pun intended, lol) and create something bigger and better :-). Best of all? You shared! Thank you. I’ve already made one and plan to make a few more. hugs, Shelley from Canada
Thanks, Shelley. Let me know when you make one!
Karen, I, too, love this box. I’ve been looking for a box ( other than the clear boxes) to hold note cards for little anytime gifts for friends and family. This looks perfect. Thanks! Kathryn
OMG! I LUV the box! It is exactly what I’ve been looking for, so inexpensive and just the right size.
I’ll have to write the directions down because I can’t make it now, but it is something I plan to make for the holidays. Thank you for your great ideas, Karen.
Did you make this box in April? If you did I probably couldn’t find it again, but now that I have it will be added to my notebook. Thanks again!
Thanks so much, Kathryn!
Hi Kathryn – let me know when you make it! Its a great holiday gift idea.
