There is a large box on the floor of my living room filled with brand new, exciting Stampin’ Up! products just waiting to be played with! Each day I look at it and dream … but my life is a bit full lately. More about that later, but I did take a quick moment late last evening to make this quick Build a Birthday card!
If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know that I have been missing-in-action quite a bit lately.
I had a fabulous week in Hawaii, but unfortunately my computer knowledge kept me from doing my posting there …
but my biggest reason has been that Tim and I have been helping my 90 year mom move to an assisted living facility.
Now, if it were just up to Tim and me, we could get her moved quickly, but, if you spend time with an elderly person, you know how their lives move in “slow motion”.
She is downsizing a bit (from a one bedroom apartment to a smaller one bedroom apartment) and since she has added a motorized scooter, an extra walker for car travel, and a regular wheelchair to her possessions, some things have to be left behind.
Letting go is such an emotional issue anyway, and, at this stage of life when you are losing your own abilities and losing your friends, I think it’s even harder.
Every item is discussed and many memories are shared.
It is in many ways a sweet time as we spent all of this time together, and I am happy to be there as she makes this next step in her life … but it is hard to maintain my blog and other aspects of my business.
I appreciate you reading this and your understanding as I work to get everything back on track – hopefully very soon!
and give an extra hug to all of those elderly people in your life! Let them know they are special to you. We never know how long we will have them.
