Quick & Easy Twisted Easel Cards to Make
What a cute friendship card with the Storybook Gnomes Designer Series Paper!
This sentiment “knowing you feels like coming home” says so much! The door, the shoes, the sentiment – all are from the Warm Welcome Bundle which is paired here with the Celebrate Everything Designer Series Paper.
Butterflies are timeless! This butterfly from the Brilliant Wings Dies is attached just on one wing so it really looks like its flying in the air. This paper is from the Butterfly Kisses Designer Series Paper.
Notice how the flowers on this card using the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper has several layers to it! One flower was added to the base flowers with one layer of dimensionals and the second flower was added with two layers of dimensionals.
How do you make a Twisted Easel Card?
This is all you need:
1. Score the 8-1/2” x 4-1/4” cardstock @ 4-1/4” and fold.
2. Score from the top of the fold line to the opposite corner and fold.
3. Add one 4” square piece of Designer Series Paper to the inside of the card.
4. Cut the other square in half from one corner to the other. Add this piece to the front facing part of the fold.
5. Stamp your sentiment on a scrap of basic white, layer if you like, and pop this piece up with dimensionals to keep the folded part of the card upright.

Karen,
Fellow SU Demo from TX, enjoy your videos! Question for you, how did you cut out the large oval of hearts die in theFramed Florets die set? Was it an older set of oval dies or by hand?
Thanks, Anita
Its one of the two different oval dies in that die set.
Thank you so much for this quick but pleasing easel card
I am so glad you enjoyed it, Fay!
Karen,
The Framed Florets card is so cute and I’ve watched your video, however, it’s don’t believe you mentioned what you used to cut the oval with? The hearts are cut into the card stock but the oval isn’t cut out. There is no die to cut it with the set. What did you use? You didn’t cut that out by hand, did you?
I understand you used one of the oval heart dies but how did you cut the whole thing out as an oval as there are only three oval dies ,and the heart one is much bigger than the other two so I don’t understand how you got the large oval around the heart oval cut out?
Lin Bentley here. Fellow s/u demonstrate from MI. I was just curious where u sign these cards ? They r way to adorable to sign on the front. I’m making 1 for a baby shower.
Thanks,
Lin B
Hi Lyn, I actually add a piece of white to the back of most of my fun fold cards and sign them there – I want to have them look pretty on display!
The larger oval is the inside piece of the biggest die
I did cut around that one by hand – it didn’t turn out perfect of course – but it looks fine, right?
