A quick and easy design tip today. I have used Cool Treats and the Tasty Treats Designer Series Paper, but you can use these ideas with any stamps and papers! Start with cutting a piece of any Designer Series Paper 4″ x 5 1/4″ and then cut that to create one or more cards!
Here are some easy ideas to get your started!
Cut the piece into three strips.
Score one of the strips to make a card like this:
It opens like this:
Use a second piece down the side of the card front.
(Use the third as a piece across the front of the card, which doesn’t work in this case because there is an up and down pattern.)
*Of course, you could make three cards the same too!
Cut the paper into two triangles.
Use one on the front of the card like this.
Flip over the other triangle and tuck under the first.
Cut the paper sideways.
Use one or both (with one flipped over) on the front of the card.
Use this for this fun fold card.
Opened up, the card looks like this:
Cut one of the two pieces into strips:
and use on layouts like this:
A great reason to cut your Designer Series Papers to 4″ x 5 1/4″ is that you will get three across the 12″ paper!
Now … its your turn. What will you do with your 5 1/2″ x 4″ piece of Designer Series Paper? (I have a challenge going on for this with my customer facebook group – if you have purchased from me during the last three months, be sure to request to join the Back Porch Stampers!)
Made all of the first set of cards today with the exception of the 2nd brown and turquoise sundae card..but…can’t figure out the dimensions..can you tell me or do I need to buy something first?
I just caught up on your video’s wow, what fun ideas, you both gave me, so enjoyed. do you have a video on the Cool Treats Cards, I want to make the tucked behind , you lift it up so cool. I like them all, Thanks Karen & Tim, Like the Dragon Dream, High Tide Wow.
Yes – the post and video on making those is on this blog post, Carolyn – https://karentitus.com/cool-treatsfun-folds-card-kit/
The base card is 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4 and the other watermelon color piece is 4″ square. Does that help, Drenda?
