Would you like to make an explosion card and never forget how to do it???
Explosion Cards Made Easy with a Story
I came up with this story many years ago- long before I was doing anything online.
Everyone did the folds while I told my story at countless parties.
I have a couple of YouTube videos on this too – I will connect to those at the bottom of this post just for fun!
This card uses a 6″ x 6″ piece of Designer Series Paper. The base card is a 3-1/2″ x 7″ piece of card stock, scored and folded in half. This is a smaller card but will still work well with a regular size envelope. To make a regular full-sized card, use an 8″ x 8″ square of Designer Series Paper.
We were going camping and stopped to eat along the way. I ate a taco. (triangle fold)
but I didn’t stop at one – I ate another taco. (open and re-fold the other way)
and I was still hungry – so I ate a hot dog! (flip the paper and fold this way)
We finally made it to the camp ground and needed to set up our tent. (Open the fold and poke the center to look like this.
Fold into a tent shape.
After three days of camping with no showers or indoor plumbing, we were so glad to get back to our house. (Fold the corner in to meet in the middle to make a house shape (sides & a roof)
Repeat on the other side.
The house is done but it looks a little tacky with the sides flapping around … so we will just tuck each of them inside.
and the explosion fold is finished. Put adhesive on the top and bottom and put it inside of a card.
So that is the five word story: Taco, taco, hot dog, tent, house

Thank You.
Looking forward to seeing you each week. I love what you teach above and beyond stamping…. Oh yes, when I was teaching my planet unit to my 3rd grade students the scientist declared Pluto not a planet so I changed the sentence to
“ My very educated Mother just served us NACHOS”. And to show the different two M’s, I told them that Mercury ends with “y” as does “my” so Mercury is first. Just thought I’d share for any teachers out there.
Now on with your explosion! And thanks much.
Thanks for sharing your story about the NACHOS – I love it!
