Your pattern for this lovely Christmas box is right in your kitchen cupboard!
Yes, its that dish or bowl or anything round! I took a set of three bowls from my cupboard, traced around each of them using the Trim the Tree Specialty DSP, and cut them out. That is the pattern!
All of the instructions are in the video below, but I just wanted to share the pictures first.
The tags I added are all from the Merry Everything stamp set and punched out with the Note Tag Punch.
This photo will show that they really are different sizes – actually all three will nest inside of each other.
The largest box is from a 10″ circle, scored at 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″, turned 90 degrees and scored at 2″ and 8″.
The middle sized box is from an 8 1/2″ circle, scored at 3″ and 5″, turned 90 degrees and scored at 1 3/4″ and 6 3/4″.
The smallest box is from a 7″ circle, scored at 2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″, turned 90 degrees and scored at 1 1/2″ x 5 11/2″.
The nice thing about these boxes is that you can choose different score lines, depending upon what you are going to put inside.
How to Make a Gift Box from a Circle!
I came up with idea when Tim had baked some cookies and wanted to take some over to a friend. Since I love papercrafting, I decided to try dressing it up a bit. The Trim the Tree DSP is great for boxes because it is thicker than other papers and will hold a gift item easily.
