Two weeks ago I asked for volunteers in the Fine Line (my downline group) who wanted to participate in a fun, creative challenge. I would send three items to them in the mail and they would need to create a card using all three items – plus anything else they wanted to. Sixteen responded – and this is what I sent them:
The paper was all from the Cupcakes & Carousels Paper Pack so the colors were either Calypso Coral or Bermuda Bay. Enjoy looking at all of these ideas – and next week I am going to do something similar with my customers … so be ready to volunteer!
What made this really creative is that no one could go to Pinterest and “search” for cards using all three of these things.
Kathleen Hopperstad used the Perfect Mix stamp set and the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder. Such a lovely use of colors and textures.
Brenda Taylor made a darling baby card with the Moon Baby stamp set, coloring it with the Watercolor Pencils.
Notice the Baker’s Twine that Linda MacArthur wove into the hot air balloon from the Life Me Up stamp set.
Cathy Seal couldn’t decide which card she like best, so she shared both of them – variations on a theme.
Notice the sponging of the doilies, the layering of the dragonflies from Dragonfly Dreams, and the lace edging from the Delicate Details stamp set (one of the FREE Sale-A-Bration choices)
Notice the Silver Foil clouds, the Rhinestone Accents, and the way the doily is used along the bottom edge in this lovely card by Debbi Muche.
Everyone will want this Thankful Life host set when they see this card. I love the way Maria Leininger used the doilies along the edge too.
So, if the above cards haven’t been creative enough, Cheryl Svendsen was going out of town and wouldn’t be able to get the supplies I was sending so she asked if she could use what she had that would be a close fit. She used the older doilies, different paper but similar color, and different but similar ribbon. What fun coloring on the chick too!
In a totally different arrangement, Mary Burks used the flower from the You’ve Got This stamp set to make birthday card. This simple design could be used for so many different occasions.
For dog lovers … how cute is this card by Laura Guggenberger using the Bella & Friends stamp set.
I love how Sarah Meckler angled the words on this card using the flower from the So in Love stamp set.
This lovely monochromatic card by Lisa Wellman uses the Lift Me Up stamp set. Notice how she tucked the doily behind the words at the bottom of the card.
The doily is nicely framed by the Scalloped Circle in this card by Kim Glover. Isn’t it fun to see all the different ways you can layer with SU! punches, framelits, doilies, etc?
Another simple layout that I love – Laurie Senkbeil just added words from the Scenic Saying stamp set!
Have you notice all the different ways the doilies have been used. I love how Nancy Nobel tucked it behind these pretty flowers from the Special Reason stamp set.
Sandi Garfield used the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits in So Saffron to go with this print from the Cupcakes & Carousels Paper Pack – and she used the Petal Burst embossing folder for the background.
This is the card I made for this challenge – you will find the directions here.
Now.. how fun was that? If you are a customer of mine (or become one), I would love to have you participate in our next round. Just email me to ask me how!
I was at the card making event last weekend and it was so much fun! I LOVED how organized you are and how beautiful the cards! I can’t wait for the next one!
Thank you so much Bonnie! I am so glad you came!
