Got Pokemon fever?
If you don’t, I’m sure you know someone who does! How about surprising them with a fun Pokemon card? (Or maybe, like me, you could go for the “cool grandma” factor by creating some of these with your grandkids!)
Project #1: Pikachu Punch Art and Pop-Up Card!
The inside looks like this:
For Pikachu, the cheeks and eyes are made with 1″ and 1/2″ Circle Punches. The ears and nose are made with the Festive Flower Builder Punch and the mouth with the Best Badge Punch. (There are short video tutorials at the end of this post if you want to see more details.)
For the inside, fold a 5″ x 8″ piece of Whisper White card stock in half and cut two slits.
Fold that part out and attach to the base card.
Project #2: Pokemon Pokeball Punch Art Cards!
What you can do with circle punches!
This first card uses the 2″ Circle Punch along with the 3/4″ and 1/2″ Circle Punches. The strip of black is 1/2″ wide.
For a larger size, use the 4″ Circle Framelits along with the 1 3/8″ and 1″ Circle Punches.
To make this a fold out card, use the Circle a bit off the edge of the card stock. When you add the red half circle, it will look entirely round again.
Play around with circle sizes!
Project #3: Tiny Treat Box
Surprise those happy hunters with this fun little treat. These Pokemon Pokeballs are made with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch along with the 3/4″ and 1/2″ Circle Punches. Attach to the mints and put in the box. I added the same red, black, and white card stock to the sides to finish the look.
Project #4: Cupcake Topper
In the video, you will see this topper on the muffin … I ate the muffin before remembering to take a photo! (and I am not even walking this off by playing Pokemon!)
Now, of course, you can put all of these creations in the coordinating white bag!
Want more details? Here are three short videos showing all of today’s projects.

My favorite is the yellow Pikachu card My youngest son (who is 22 now!) loved Pikachu when he was little! I'[ll probably make this card for him!
My favorite is the Pikachu card. You could probably make it in different colors and make other little creatures and do some other decoration on the inside.
I like the yellow Pikachu. However my household wasn’t into this craze.
I would have to say the yellow card is my favorite!
I loved Project 1 and 2. Karen you are so on top of the newest things!
I am not a Pokemon fan, but I think these are all cute. 🙂
I like the red, white and black tiny box idea. My grandson was so into Pokeman when he was younger. Thanks for the great ideas
“Gotta catch them all!!”
Pikachu I choose you! My adult children are “catching them all”… I would too but haven’t got it to work yet.
I will make a few cards for my grandson even though this whole Pokemon thing is beyond me. Kids could be into worse things and it’s hard to know cards to make for boys so yours are perfect!
Great ideas, I will have to try some of them!
Never got into Pokemon then or now……however I love your tiny treat box!
Love treat box. They are all great. With having three boys and taking care of six more, we had lots of pokemon around.
Pokemon is certainly very popular currently.
The Pikachu is very cute. Very “current”. thanks for sharing.
My favorite is the Pikachu pop-up card!
