My favorite dies – the Stitched Shapes Dies – make beautiful cards just on their own!
Start with die cutting a bunch of the shapes in different colors and reassembling them on either sticker paper or glued onto regular paper.
Cut one of the circles in half to make a rainbow.
The 3/4″ Circle Punch is used with this card. The sentiment, from the Many Mates stamp set, seemed to just fit the rainbow theme.
Cut one circle into fourths. Attach one to each corner of your card front and you have this fun design. This sentiment is from the Ridiculously Awesome stamp set.
Cut a circle in half and layer them like this for an entirely different look. The “adventure” die from the Sweet Silhouettes Dies was attached to a Foam Adhesive Sheet before being run through the embossing machine.
For a more subdued look, use softer colors and add a thin strip across the middle of the card front. This sentiment is from the Rooted in Nature stamp set.
Turn this card sideways and you have a popsicle – it would make a perfect size for a slim line card — or leave off the outside circle to make it a bit smaller. I turned it sideways and added the sentiment from the Queen Anne’s Lace stamp set.
And just for fun, layer your cut circles in different arrangements like this! These words are from the Well Said stamp set.
Now, let’s look at a few square dies cards. This square is left whole with a hand cut heart place on top for a country folk art look. The sentiment, from the Festive Corner stamp set, goes around the corner.
Cutting the square in half from opposite corners creates this look.
Cut it four ways to create this card.
Next, line up those same pieces across the bottom of the card front. (Sentiment from Ridiculously Awesome.)
Cutting the square in half the other way gives you this look. (Sentiments from Rooted in Nature.)
Last, a couple of Ovals cards. Cut them any way you want to create a card like this with a thin strip of cardstock to line the edges up.
Just have fun seeing what combinations you can come up with.
