What a fitting day to share my Polar Party birthday cards!
You will see those cards right after I share these pictures from our yard in Minnesota today!
We started out for church this morning, but after a few blocks of sliding around, we turned around and came home. New tires are on our shopping list for tomorrow!
I've spent the rest of the day playing with my new stamp sets and watching the snow fall outside. What a wonderful day!

We have had at least nine inches of snow so far and its not over yet. (Tim says he is sure he has shoveled more than nine inches of snow today!)
Now for those Polar Party cards filled with snowflakes too!

Pool Party and Calypso Coral make a fun and unusual color combination for a winter card. Polar Party is a set of nine stamps including several that are for Christmas, but I particularly like the set for making birthday cards for all those winter birthdays! I love the polar bear and the two different penguins. Add just a bit of color and the cards are finished!

Both of these cards use the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder. On the first card, it was used with Pool Party Card Stock for a subtle look and on the second card, Whisper White Card Stock was used and rhinestones added. Did you notice that the Blossom Punch was used as the background for the circle with the dancing penguin? The other Card Stock used on this card is Basic Gray, although it looks like black in the picture. These Polar Party animals are all so cute and happy. Its fun to play with now, but it won't be come February when I'm tired of the snow!
Let's end with a giant snowflake card:

The Snow Flurry Bigz Die has all three of these snowflakes. On this card, the Whisper White snowflakes were first attached to the Pacific Point Card Stock and then run through the Big Shot with the Argyle Folder. Then, to finish the card, the sparkly center circles punched out of the Silver Glimmer Paper were added.
I'm realizing how relaxing it is to have a day when you are forced to stay home! Whether you are in Minnesota and experiencing this amazing snowfall, or you live elsewhere and are just hearing about it (and maybe basking in your warmer weather), I hope you are enjoying a peaceful Sunday!
