One sheet of 12″ x 12″ Hand Penned Designer Series Paper will make this tote bag and provide the trim for for four cards it holds! What a great gift to make and give!
These are the four cards – all regular size (5-1/2″x4-1/4″).
The sentiments use the Biggest Wish stamp set with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.
If you use the smaller Note Cards & Envelopes (5″ x 3-1/2″ size), they will fit sideways in the bag and not show.
These are those cards – they all use a different sentiment from the Art Gallery stamp set with the Floral Gallery Dies. How fun to give a gift of cards for different occasions.
Ready for the easy instructions? Start with a 12″ x 12″ piece of Designer Series Paper of your choice.
Cut two 1″ strips off of one end, leaving the main piece measuring 10″ x 12″.
Rotate that piece 90 degrees and cut at 8″. Your pieces will look like this.
The 10″ x 8″ piece with make the tote bag. Score along the 10″ side at 4″ and 6″.
Cut 1-1/2″ from the edge along each score line.
Add adhesive along one the 4″ sides and attach it to the other side like this. See how the tote is taking shape?
Repeat with the other side.
Use the two 1″ strips to make the handles.
Now, you are left with the 10″ x 4″ piece of Designer Series Paper.
If you are making regular size cards, you will cut this paper at 5-1/4″. Cut each of these in half to make your four cards, layer them on Misty Moonlight cardstock and add your sentiments.
If you using the smaller notecards and envelopes you will cut this paper into four equal pieces, each measuring 2-1/2″ x 4″. Layer those on 2-3/4″ x 4-1/4″ pieces of Misty Moonlight and add your sentiment.
