When my kids were young, they loved those drawing books where part of a famous painting was shown in full color in just the middle of the page and then they were to draw in the rest however they wanted. Have you seen those?

After finishing their work of art, we would look up the actual painting and see how that artist finished it. It was inspiring to see how we could each take the same start on a project and end up with such amazing variations.
