After all these years … these Handmade Card Holders are still my favorite gift to make and give … and I give one to everyone who places a minimum $50 order through me in December!!!
These are quick & easy to make – and as I make them I think about how grateful I am to have such wonderful customers in my life. Because of you, my business succeeds – and the relationships are a precious gift as well!
You will find the detailed instructions on making these card holders below.
As you can see, many of these use cards from the past – so its a bit of a trip down memory lane.
I don’t know who to give credit to for making these beautiful cards – most were not made by me. Actually – that is one of my favorite perks of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator – the card swaps! (I would love to chat with you about the other perks as well – 612-929-1277)
So – now to show how easy this to make! (There is a video tutorial below as well.)
Start with a card front and choose an 8-1/2″ x 11″ piece of card stock to coordinate with it. Score the cardstock at 2″, then turn and score at 5-1/2″ like the picture shows.
Fold the cardstock on the %-1/2″ line and trim the 2″ part like this:
Attach the card front to the front of the folder.
Lay a scrap piece of cardstock along the right edge and punch a hole about midway up the side – doesn’t need to be exact. Flip the scrap piece over and lay it along the left side and use the hole as a guide. This will make the holes even on each side.
Weave your ribbon or twine through the holes like this. (This serves two purposes – it keeps the cards inside the folder and it closes the folder with bow.)
*Hint: Leave the ribbon or twine on the spool while weaving the ribbon, then tie it in a bow when finished and cut the other end … no measuring and no waste!
Tie the bow and you are finished.
Warning – its addictive making these! But just think about being ready for a host gift, a birthday gift, or a thank you at a moment’s notice!

Hi Karen, can I get a Sale-a-bration catalog and the one we got at Convention, please. Mine never made it home. Thanks.
