Quilt Block Cards Inspired by a Child's Quilt!

This set of quilt block cards were inspired by a child’s quilt – actually, a quilt that my son designed when he was eight years old. This set of four cards will be a gift for him in memory of making this quilt.

After reading the book, Sam Johnson & the Blue Ribbon Quilt, I gave him graph paper blocked off into nine squares each. I showed him how to use the blocks to color in a design and how he could color them in half to make even more possibilities.

He named each block and chose the fabrics and I made the quilt for him. This block is Fish Out of the Sea.
