Sometimes its fun to make a card for a special occasion and not use the obvious stamp choices, so today I'm sharing a Stampin' Up! baby card with Storybook Friends!

Doesn't it look like the little animals are all running to hear the good news? Although this card idea would work well for single births as well, you will see in the next picture of the inside that this card was made for a friend expecting twins…..and a boy and a girl as you can tell!
Instead on giving one gift card like I would usually do, I used two gift cards to show the idea of twins.
The card making video tutorial below gives you all the details and written directions are below.
Before the video, I just want to say that this card will fit into a regular business envelope, so its easy to mail. I took this card to a shower in person, so I wanted something prettier than a regular envelope so I quickly made this, just measuring the card, adding 3/4" in width and scoring 1/4" on each side. I folded it to fit the card and trimmed the top and it was all done.
Aren't the little animals in Storybook Friends just adorable? There are six little creatures, three facing left and three facing right. I put two on each side of the front and that left one for each of the envelopes which hold the gift certificates.
To make the card, I took two piece of Sahara Sand card stock, each 12" by 3 1/2". I scored each at 8", then folded on the score lines and attached the long part of one piece of card stock on top of the other so that the two 4" pieces were on the sides. When folded, they met in the middle. I used two antique brads and some Bakers Twine for the closure.
The inside pockets for the gift cards were each made with a piece of designer series paper.
