It might seem early to be thinking Christmas, but we all know how it seems to suddenly be upon us, so today I'm sharing my Stampin' Up! First Christmas Card of the Season!
If you are wanting to make a religious Christmas card, this First Christmas stamp set is a great choice. I love the messages on the two word stamps in this set: "This Christmas may you know Him more fully through the love and grace He so richly bestows" and "May the wonder of the first Christmas be with you always!".
If you look on page 18 of the 2012 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog, you will see where I got this card idea. There is a pretty triangle box with these same design elements on them. I took that idea and turned it into a regular card. Whenever you are browsing through the catalog, keep in mind the thought "What else could I do with this?"
***And, by the way, if you don't have the 2012 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog, email me with your name and address and I will pop one in the mail to you right away. (Of course, if you have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator that you are working with, please ask her for it!)
The stamping video tutorial below will show you how to easily mass produce these cards.
The Big Shot was used twice on this card! First, on the background, I ran the the Cherry Cobbler card stock through it with the Fancy Fan folder. Then, under the star, you will see the lacy Whisper White circle made with the Perfect Pennants Bigz Die. The 1 3/4" Circle Punch, with the star stamped on it in Crumb Cake, fits over that.
I embossed the manger with the Early Espresso embossing powder. What a rich brown look that gives! If you are making lots of cards like this, the cutting out of the mangers is a perfect activity to do while sitting in a comfortable chair watching TV. (That's when I do for all of my cutting projects since I can't stand to just watch TV.)
I will also be hosting a Christmas Stamp-a-Stack where you can make 20 Christmas Cards (4 each of 5 designs) for only $30! If that sounds like a great way to get your cards made, stay tuned!
I hope you are inspired to start thinking ahead with this Stampin' Up! First Christmas Card of the Season!
