The High Tide stamp set is great for masculine cards, which many of us have a harder time planning for! I also love the words in this set. Today, we are looking at three fun and easy techniques to use with this stamp set.
First – a nautical feel with knotted rope
This is so easy to do with some Baker’s Twine.

Next, sponging adds depth of color to water and sky.
Bermuda Bay and Pool Party were used for the sponging. Notice the fun layout with the words going up the side.
For tips on sponging, watch this short video.

Wink of Stella and Stamp Twisting
I love the words on this next card (which come from this High Tide stamp set) “You have the most amazing ability to take an ordinary moment and make it shine”. What an awesome thank you that makes.
To emphasize the word “shine” I used the super size sun from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set for this card. Stamp it in Crushed Curry, then keep re-stamping it, twisting a little bit each time. Doesn’t that give it a fun filled-in look?
Then, with a Wink of Stella pen (I used a mostly dried up one for this) – dip it in Crushed Curry ink refill and paint the sun and the first part of the rays.
Add the rest in Night of Navy, layer it on Crushed Curry and Night of Navy card stock and you are finished.

If you have been watching our Facebook Lives on Thursdays, you will recognize these projects. During each live show, I share lots of ideas and I get questions about how I did some of them. Instead of responding by giving the point in the video where that card was made, I am making some Just a Minute Stamping Tips videos to share these details. I hope you find that helpful!

thank you so much Brenda!
Karen I’m having problems keeping my knots evenly spaced on my Rope for my High Tide card.. 🙁 What your trick ?
Great questions! If you go back and look at mine – they aren’t perfectly spaced at all. I made a dozen of these cards – and you should have seen how some of them looked – and no one complained. I think we are all just hard on ourselves – enjoy making the one-of-a-kind card – you couldn’t make another one spaced like your first one even if you tried!!! Thanks so much for your comment.
Thank you Karen I’m going to give it whirl again 🙂
