Yes, this is about Toxic Treats for your Halloween drinking pleasure! All in good fun, of course. I love the name of this stamp set: Toxic Treats. Wouldn't these look great on your table at Halloween?
I used Gumball Green Card Stock to go with these weird green drinks I found. (There were so many chemicals listed on the label and I have no idea what most of them are… so I decided they really did fit this Halloween project. I am certainly not going to actually drink them either!)
The label says it all "Toxic Treacherous Treats: Eat at Own Risk!" Kids will love it.
To make the tags, I used the double embossing technique. That's my name for it since I don't really know what it is called. It might not show up too well in the photo, but the tag looks glossy all over. Parts of it have even more layers of gloss so it looks a bit unusual, fitting for Halloween. You can watch the stamping video tutorial below if my directions don't make sense!
I embossed the Toxic Treats stamp in black on Gumball Green card stock and then cut it out with the Big Shot and the Label Collections Framelits. (You would use whatever color card stock fits your drink of choice! I think green, orange, black, and purple are particularly "enticing" at Halloween.) I cut the next size larger Label Collections Framelit out of Basic Black card stock.
Then, for the double embossing, I pressed the entire green shape into a VersaMark Pad, poured Clear Embossing Powder over it, and heated that until fully embossed. I repeated that process again – and you could do it as many times as you want. You don't even need to dip it back into the VersaMark Pad if you add more powder while the card stock is still warm.
When that it done, just attach the green card stock to the black card stock, punch a hole with the 1/16" Circle Punch, add some Bakers Twine and tie it around your drink.
Watching this might make more sense:
So….what kind of Toxic Treats would you like to serve your family and/or guests this Halloween? Make the tags soon and put your drinks on display until Halloween. Anticipation is a huge part of Halloween for kids, so enjoy looking forward to serving these Toxic Treats for your Halloween drinking pleasure!
