My grandmother Anne Ostbo came from Surnadal, Norway, southwest of Trondheim. She lived with us on our dairy farm in Jackson, MN. I remember sitting in her lap as she sat in her big wicker wheelchair. I was seven years old when she died.
Grandma Anne had seven siblings. My mother has one first cousin still living and that cousin lives in Norway. Relatives from all over Norway were getting together to celebrate her 75th birthday last week. My sister Mary (a SU! demonstrator in CA and pictured with me below), my brother Tom and his wife Shari, and I all went to Norway for the celebration. We had a great time being with relatives and exploring the country.
We got to stay at the homestead. Part of the barn is still the original building.
This picture was taken at midnight and shows how light it stays this time of the year.

You got all the way up to Trondheim? Someday we will have to compare experiences. We loved Norway….I still have to finish one more blog on it before I wrap up my paris blog.
