When it was time to write my thank you notes to all the people who took care of me in Norway, who did I turn to but Karen and Stampin' Up!? I didn't actually stamp on this card, but I did use the Stampin' Up! card stock, Stampin' Up! Snail (I had to ask Karen what it was called) and the Stampin' Up! Cutter.
The reason for the trip was to celebrate my mother's first cousin Oddny's 75th birthday. The celebration was held at Tingvoll Museum, a restored farm of a wealthy Norwegian farmer. I chose this picture because it captures the beauty of the setting and the gathering of my relatives. My sister Mary Burks, a Stampin' Up! demonstrator in the Bay Area of San Francisco, is in the middle.
I'm color blind, so I had Karen pull out all of the choices in card stock that would work with this picture and then I chose the Basic Black for the small frame because of all the people dressed in black and the Lucky Limeade to accent the ground, the trees, and the grass roof.
Once I had done all this design work, I told Karen she needed to do the cutting and the snailing since it was too exacting for my skills in the area of card making. I did write the notes inside, however, and I addressed the cards, and I went to the post office to mail them.
So thats how I design a card. How does your husband, or loved one, design his?
Wow Tim, good for you! You wrote in the cards?!?!? and mailed them too!!! Your design skills are way ahead of my dear hubby! Love your Tuesday posts. Lori R.
