Ten card ideas today using just the leaf stamp from the Gather Together stamp set + Gathered Leaves Dies!!! How many ways can we add color? (Use the comment to vote for your favorite by Sept 21!!!)
- Just stamp it – this card uses Early Espresso with the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper. (plus a little twine from Nature’s Twine)
2. Add color with a blending pen! This card uses Blackberry Bliss ink and more twine from Nature’s Twine. (Notice that both of these cards use the Stitched Rectangles Dies)
3. How about stamping with the Delicata Metallic Ink? The photo doesn’t show it very well, but it makes a soft, pretty look. Of course, you could emboss it to make it really stand out.
4. After stamping in black, you can use sponge dauber to make a multi-colored leaf. Granny Apple Green, Crushed Curry, and Calypso Coral were used on this card.
5. Randomly stamping the leaf in different colors created this next card.
6. Make a watercolored card by changing the paper to the Watercolor Paper. Ink the stamp, then spritz with water before stamping. Hold the stamp on the paper for a few second to let the ink absorb into the paper.
7. Another way to watercolor is to stamp all of the leaves first on the watercolor paper, then spritz water over the images. Vary the look by using different amounts of water.
8. Paper piecing is another quick way of adding color to your leaf. Stamp first – or just use the dies alone like this: (using the See A Silhouette Designer Series Paper)
9. How about just using plain card stock and turning into a dried up leaf. This reminds me of walking through crunchy autumn leaves! Spritz the leaf with water, then crumple it into a little ball. Unfold carefully and let it dry.
10. And last – create a watercolor look using ink refills and baby wipes.
Wondering how any of these are done? You can watch them all being made in the facebook replay below – jump to 4:39 to just catch that part.
So – these are just a few ways to add color to your autumn leaf cards. Vote on your favorite coloring technique by leaving a comment here – and someone is going to get a little gift on Sept 21!
There are so many great ideas here. I think my favorite – one I’ve never tried – is #6. That is inking the stamp and spritzing with water before stamping on watercolor paper.
I love all of them for different occasions, but for quick and easy(my go to) I love the random stamping with several colors for a stunning background look.
They are all beautiful but I love the looks of card #4 the best. Thank you for sharing.
Gonna go with 10…
I like #10 using the refills and baby wipes
My fav, that I can’t wait to try, it using the baby wipes and ink.
I can’t decide which I love best, #4 or #5 are so beautiful. I love autumn colors so maybe #4, or #5 oh my :-p
I like the one using the sponge daubers
I love them all but my favorite is the baby wipes one
I like the multi colors of # 10.
Number 1 is my favorite
I like #1 the best. Just a simple but stunning look of being natural. Love the wood paper background and early espresso ink together. The twine just pulls it all together.
They are all great but #6 & #10 are my favorites.
Well, this was a really hard decision! I chose #10, but I love them all. 😀
I liked #6 .. using watercolor paper, different color inks and spritzing the stamp! And I like the crinkle method Tim did!!!
I love #10 the best!
I would have to say #5 is my favorite. But I’m going to have to try #9
I am wuth Cathy A. – I love #6!
4-6-10. I like these the best. No outright fave.
Since I like the water color look I do a variation similar to the diaper wipe but dab colors directly on the stamp and then spritz with water.
I loved #10…re-inkers & wipes! Stunning!
I like #1
I do not make decisions well – especially when you give me 10 choices! ? I think # 10 is my favorite, but I also like the clean look of #1. And I think Tim’s scrunched up leaf is a good idea, too.
My favorite is #10
So many beautiful cards but #10 is my favorite!
They are all great ideas, but I love #10. Couldn’t believe the beautiful coloring from just a few drops of ink.
#10 is my favorite! But they are all lovely.
#10, I haven’t tried this technique yet but I need to soon.
I like #4 the best……#5 is a close second. Thanks for sharing different ideas.
Hi Karen,
I like numer 10 the best. I love the multi colored leaves. I’ve seen the baby wipe idea done before but I’ve never tried it myself. I guess I’ll have to give it a try.
10 – reinkers and baby wipes
Hello, I like number 4, then 5.
I like the random colors stamping.
I love 10, but then I like them all ?
Always a favorite just stamped #1.
I love # 8. It is colorful and easy to do.
My favorite is #5. Simple but beautiful.
I liked #5 Random stamping in different colors.
I think in this case, I enjoyed #9 most. For fall leaves, the crumpled leaf effect is perfect! …also walking through crunchy dry leaves and hearing the sound and smelling the smell…ahhhhhh…one of my favorite things to do!
I’m a plain and simple kind of gal, so I like #1 the best. I very seldom do watercoloring.
I like 1 and 10, it was hard to chose they all are fun.
They all are pretty and look fun to do, but my favorite is#10, baby wipes and reinkers.
I used #10 (baby wipes) to make cards for my church’s country market. So glad you refreshed my memory on this method.
My favorite is #4. They are all pretty though.
They are all pretty…so difficult to choose, love #9 as it looks like a real leaf, but #5 is my favorite!
I think they are all fun, but my favorite is #4. Thanks for sharing your ideas!!! ?
I like them all, but the baby wipe technique is my favorite!
I like #1 the best, however #4 is very nice also.
I really like them all if I was to choose only one to make I’d do the crumpled up leaf, It is different and easy.
I truly love them all, but I have to admit, my favorite is #10, the baby wipes 🙂
I love them all but would definitely do number 5 more than others.
5 is my vote
