Today we’re creating a beautiful card with a secret—inside is a hidden slide-out gift card holder! It’s such a fun, personal way to give a gift that shows you care.
This project combines simple folds with a clever design that’s easy to recreate. You can use any Designer Series Paper or color combination to fit the occasion — from holidays and birthdays to thank-you gifts and celebrations.

This pull-out card is so easy to make!
- Score a regular 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ card base at 2” from one side and at 2-1/2” from the other side and fold both flaps inwards.
- Adhere a 2-1/4” x 5-1/4” DSP piece on the 2-1/2” flap and a 1-3/4” x 5-1/4” DSP piece on the 2” flap.
- For the insert, score a 4-1/4” x 5-7/8” Basic White piece at 2” from one side at 1/2” from the other side. Punch/cut half circle on the top edge of the bigger flap as shown.
- Adhere the ½” flap of the insert along the score line of the card base as shown on the template below.
- Put adhesive on both sides of the bottom flap to close up the pocket.
- Add your accent/sentiment pieces.
