This time of year, it’s easy to focus on the upcoming holidays and forget about birthdays (anyone with a November or December birthday reading this?) so I decided to showcase a quick birthday card today!
The words and the party hat are from the Birthday Surprise stamp set. I love the way they aren’t solid, but look more etched. (I can’t think of the right word to describe this – can you help with that???)
The Chevron Border Punch makes lovely borders on cards, of course, but here is a fun twist on that. The video will show how I lined it up to create this look.
Just a Minute: Tip for Using the Chevron Border Punch!
Sometimes when we are making masculine cards, it’s harder to come with accent ideas – too much ribbon might not work! This punch is a great way to provide that extra detail for those cards.
Let’s all remember those Holiday Birthday friends and send them a birthday card!
I love the look of the wording and the colours complement each other well.
What a wonderful use for your border punch. Love the way you rotated the design. xx
Hooray for December birthdays. I often get either a b-day card with Happy Thanksgiving on it or a Thanksgiving card with Happy Birthday on it. I love the cutouts on the card. Thank you for sharing this at Make It Monday.
Yes, Donna – you definitely have a Holiday birthday month! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Jen! We all love new little tricks with punches, don’t we?
What a lovely card! Those are our favourite colours as well 🙂 x
I have a daughter that was born on Christmas so often it’s easy to forget a birthday card. Thanks for the reminder. And thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
