Today we’re keeping cardmaking simple. We’re starting with one easy layout and letting ephemera do the work just for the fun of it. No rules, no pressure, and no “right” way to do it. Just using what you already have and enjoying the process. Let’s see what we come up with!
I hope this reminded you that cardmaking doesn’t have to be complicated to be beautiful. A simple layout, a few favorite paper bits, and a little time at the table can go a long way. Keep playing, keep mixing, and most of all—keep enjoying the process.
I’m using a sheet of Splash of Sparkles Designer Series Paper that cuts into 3 x 3 pieces leaving a soft, watercolored look for the background.
We are using a combination of the Easter Time Mix & Match Ephemera and the Softest Spring Mix & Match Puffy Stickers to complete the cards.
Here’s a simple template for a Polaroid card:
Now let’s take a closer look at the cards we made using this layout.
Changing up the size will give you a new variation!
I’m using a different sheet from the Splash of Sparkles Designer Series paper pack – which will cut the paper into 4 x 4 squares, leaving the lovely watercolored rectangles for the background.
Using the same “polaroid” layout but with different measurements.
Cut each 4″ x 4″ piece down to 3-1/4″ x 4″, layer on a 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ piece of cardstock and then onto the base card.
Use the larger pieces of ephemera for these cards.
