There’s something so eye-catching about woven designs — all that texture and detail makes a card feel extra special. But what if you could get that “wow” look without any complicated weaving? — Faux Ribbon Weave Cards!
Using ½” strips of Designer Series Paper, you can create the look of an intricate ribbon weave pattern in a way that’s surprisingly quick and relaxing to put together. It’s a fantastic way to use up patterned paper strips, show off multiple designs at once, and add visual texture to your card fronts.
The Made with Love Designer Series Paper paired with Lovely Doilies makes a beautiful Valentine’s card.
It’s so easy to make!
1.Score the card base in half and fold.
2. Mark every inch along both sides of the 2” x 5-1/2” piece of Basic White (you can also use your grid paper).
3. Put adhesive on your DSP strips. You will use 7 strips of one side of the paper, flip the other 7 pieces to use the opposite side.
4. Adhere the DSP strips on the Basic White piece. Trim off the excess on the edges.
5. Layer this on the 2-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of coordinating cardstock. Then adhere on the card front.
6. Add your accent/sentiment piece.
