One great idea for masculine cards, three ways with three different stamp sets: Feeling Sentimental, Harvest Blessings, and The Open Sea.
This amazing card by Roxie Nitti arrived in my mail for no reason! Now, thats a good day, wouldn't you agree?
The picture doesn't do this card justice. The Early Espresso and Basic Black look so good together and the Soft Suede ink for for the phone booth (from the Feeling Sentimental stamp set) adds to both. I have never used this color combination before……and did you notice the
Double Embossing Stamping Technique?
She ran the Early Espresso card stock through the Square Lattice Folder and then through the Honeycomb folder. Think of all the different textures you can get using this technique with a variety of folders.
The antique brads and the Soft Suede Ribbon provide the finishing touch.
Then Lisa Wellman took Roxie's idea and created two additional cards.
Isn't that old tractor from Harvest Blessings a great fit? Its easy to think you have to color in an image like this, but this looks perfectly aged in Soft Suede.
I was a "town girl" in Jackson, MN (population 3500) but Tim grew up on a dairy farm, the small family kind of farm that is rapidly disappearing. Did you know that the Minnesota Zoo has a farm exhibit? That's where most kids today, just one generation later, have to go to get an idea of what farm life used to be like!
Anyway, I digress, but I always love any farm related stamps and this one is beautiful!
The tractor card was almost an exact replicate of the original, but on this card with The Open Sea stamp set, Lisa changed some more things. In addition to changing the colors, she stamped on the Crumb Cake card stock before running it through the embossing folders.
Doesn't this show how we can be inspired by someone else's card and then make it our own?
I think all three cards are beautiful and now I would like to challenge you to create your version of this card!….and yes, I would love to post it! Just email it to me. Are you up to the challenge?
