2012 is quickly winding down. Let's send it off with these butterflies flying off through the clouds.
This new Bitty Butterfly Punch makes this card a breeze to make:
There is a stamping video tutorial on how to make this card later on in this post.
I have loved the Papillon Potpourri stamp set since it came out, but, to be honest, I have mostly used only the three larger butterfly images because they have had a co-ordinating punch (the Elegant Butterfly Punch). It seems like I always want to pop up at least one butterfly. Now, with the new Bitty Butterfly Punch, I will use the other three butterflies in the set just as much!
Its so easy to stamp a bunch of butterflies, punch them out, and pop them up on a card. It gives any card a nice look with extra dimension.
The Basic Pearls add more detail. I made a bunch of these cards for a card swap and, since I didn't want to put this many pearls on each card, I changed the card up a bit. I used four butterflies stamped with Tempting Turquoise and just one with Melon Mambo. I placed the Melon Mambo butterfly second from the top and then I accented just that one with the pearls. I liked that card just as much!
(Always take an idea and change it around to fit your tastes and whatever products you have on hand!)
To add these pearls, be sure to use the row of pearls that are connected on the package you receive. You can cut them in groups of three and then carefully lift them off with the tip of your scissors and place them on your butterfly. No finger oils, no hassle. (Watch the video below if you want to see it done.)
The New Cloudy Days Folder
I also love the new Cloud Days embossing folder! Doesn't it make a nice background for the butterflies in flight? I put one piece of Whisper White card stock 6" x 4" through the embossing folder and then cut it in half to make two cards, so that helps with speed too. (Why make one card when you can just as easily make two?)
Did you notice that the cloud layer is popped up on another, just slightly larger, piece of Whisper White card stock? I like the look of white on white. All of the dimensions for this project are included in this step-by-step video:
