To start of a new creative year, I made one of these Calendar Cards using the Crafting Forever stamp set for each of my downline!
In fact, I made over 200 of them! I didn’t want to post this until all has been mailed – and it didn’t happen by January 1 like I had planned!!! (Can you relate to that?)
The words say it so well – “Do something creative every day”. Of course, that fits our love of crafting, but it also speaks to being creative in other ways – such as doing something unexpected for someone else, looking at a problem in our own lives in a different way … and so on.
To add color easily without doing any details, a watercolor wash is perfect. Use either Stazon or Basic Black Archival ink since you need it be permanent. To paint, put a few drops of ink refill (I used Pool Party and Calypso Coral) on an acrylic block and then use the aqua painter filled with water to “paint” across the 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Shimmery White cardstock.
To make the card base, score a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/4″ piece of Pool Party Cardstock at 4 1/4″ and fold.
Cut another piece of Pool Party at 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ and score the long way at 3/4″, 2 1/8″, and 3 1/2″. Fold as the photo shows.
Add Tear N’ Tape along the outside edges.
Peel that off and attach to the bottom edges of the card. This will provide extra stability to hold the calendar.
Add the calendar. For the words, use the Pretty Label Punch with scraps of both the Calypso Coral and Soft Sky. Add the word and a couple of rhinestones and add to the card with dimensionals.
If you would like to watch this being made, here is the Facebook Live replay. You can fast forward to this project, but you might like to watch the other gift ideas as well! (And, by the way, I do a Facebook Live every Monday evening at 6:30 pm Central time and Thursday afternoon at 1 pm Central Time. Join us on our Facebook page for that!)
I love your Calendar Easel card, love the colors. I was looking for the website for the calendars on your video if you could please pass that on to me. Thank you
