Simply Sketched is one of my favorite new stamp sets!
Because it has three images and three words, I immediately saw the potential for using this set to make some nice little gifts!
When you scroll to the bottom of this post, you will see the other two cards I made, (as well as a how-to video) but first I wanted to share the card sketch I used for all three of these!
This simple card sketch, FMS90, seemed perfect to use for my idea.
I took the three images and the three phrases and paired them to make these cards. If you wanted to make them all birthday cards, etc., you could easily use the same word stamp on all of them.
With these I chose to use the Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper, using a different pattern for each card as well.
All of cards had a Pool Party base, a Basic Gray layer under the image and a Calypso Coral layer under the words.
I used the ink pads and the blender pens to color the cards. This is my favorite water coloring technique because its so quick and easy! You can watch the video below to see how its done.
Basically, I used the Pool Party ink to color around the outside of each part of each image, then colored in inside of the leaves Gumball Green. For the bird and the flower, I first colored with the Daffodil Delight and then added the Calypso Coral in the places I wanted it. I cut out those pieces and popped them up to give an accent to the card.
On the sympathy card, I just popped up a couple of the leaves. Here is the stamping video tutorial:
Now, you say, that’s all good, but what if I want envelopes to match? I don’t have 4 3/8″ square envelopes! Just stay tuned………I will show you how to easily make the envelopes in the next video!!!!
