Paper Pumpkin kits make it easy to be creative. You can make the cards just like the photos in the kit with the easy directions provided … or you can use them as a jumping off place to see what else you can come up with.
Usually I make one of the each of the cards as shown and then go for variations but this month I jumped right into changing it up!
The only things I added to the kit were the Countryside Corners Dies and the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper.
Unusual shaped cards really stand out! Here the largest Countryside Die was placed with one edge just over the fold line of one of the Night of Navy cards in the Paper Pumpkin Kit. (Watch the video below for more details.)
The rest of this sweet card is all from the kit!
Die Cut Shaped Card
For this card, cut 1-1/4″ off the right side of one of the navy card fronts. Add a 1-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece from the patterned card base and attach to the card inside.
Add a 2-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of light blue cut from one of the envelopes to the card front. Add the Calypso Coral banner across the front. Finish with the flower vase piece.
Easy Storybook Card
The storybook card is an easy fun fold card to use with these dies.
You can download a free project sheet for this fold here: Storybook Card Ideas with Template
Score a 12″ x 5-1/2″ of Designer Series Paper @ 4-1/4″, 7-1/4″ and 10-1/4″. Fold and add adhesive to create the “book”.
Add three die cuts for the messages.
Two Techniques Card
Layering flowers: a second set of flowers has been cut out and popped up over the original one.
Inked vase: a white vase from the kit was laid directly on the Calypso Coral ink pad to create a faux pottery look. (See the details in the video below.)
Tent Card Fun Fold
Cut one of the flowered cards in the kit in half. Take one of those pieces and score @ 2-3/4″. Fold to stand and add the vases piece. The frame has been popped up with dimensionals for extra depth.
Unusual Gift Card Holder
Cut one of the shaped pieces in the kit in half.
Take the other half of the patterned card base and use the Countryside Die to cut out a piece to fit inside.
Slide the gift card inside and attach to the card front.
Absolutely love your alternatives for the June PP kit! Thanks Karen
