If you like butterflies, this punch is for you! Check out these Stampin' Up! Elegant Butterfly Punch birthday cards and more!
Three cards in all today! (This is in honor of all the card swapping today at convention. I don't have time to upload any new pictures in this action packed day!)
This first card is so simple, but striking! Using the Elegant Butterfly Punch (p. 184 #127526 $15.95) and the Papillon Potpourri stamp set (p. 115 #123757w $18.95, #123759c $14.95), I made the three butterflies. I folded the wings up gently and attached them to the card with glue dots. The "Happy Birthday" is from Sassy Salutations, a wonderful set of six greetings (p. 143 #126705w $23.95, #126707c $17.95).
I used the Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper (p. 163 #126898 $10.95) and coordinating colors of card stock in Midnight Muse and Pool Party, but many different colors and papers could be used. This idea is so versatile!
For an entirely different look, we have this beautiful card by Bert Charpentier. Notice that the three butterflies on this card all have different patterns. The stamp set Papillon Potpourri includes six butterfly stamps, three of which fit the Elegant Butterfly Punch. You will see that she also made two of each of the butterflies, one to attach flat to the card and the other with raised wings to add a three dimensional look!
She used the Letter It alphabet stamp set (p. 144 #122840w $43.95, #122842c #31.95), which has a unique look with the color being around the letters instead of in the letters themselves.
For the trim she used the Patio Party Designer Series Paper (p. 165 #126916 $10.95) and the Scallop Trim Border Punch (p. 183 #118402 $15.95)
The birthday card by Julia Wesche shows another pretty layout! She used one of the butterflies from Papillon Potpourri and paired it with the Floral District Designer Series Paper (p. 163 #126919 $10.95). I love the Rich Razzleberry and Tango Tangerine color combination in that paper, partly because I would never put those two together on my own!
Notice the detail of the pierced accents around the scalloped circle. That was done with a brand new product that I haven't even tried yet…the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack (p. 181 #126187 $7.95) and the Stampin' Pierce Mat (p. 181 126199 $4.95). This pack comes with three different templates, each containing several designs, and coordinating with different Stampin' Up! punches, Edgelits, and Framelits. Don't you love it when everything coordinates like this? Stampin' Up! has done such a great job of that!
