Its another dreary, sleeting day in Minnesota so for my Poem in Your Pocket I chose a spring theme! I'm trying to be optimistic! And, since I love books and always carry one with me, I decided on a handmade Secret Garden bookmark! I made more to give away. Do you think that will encourage spring to come?
Using the same idea, I made this
Secret Garden Mothers Day Card
Notice that I used two different phrases from the Delightful Dozen stamp set, "for my wonderful mother" and "thank you so, so much". Don't those go well together to express kind thoughts to your mom? You can attach them both on the same acrylic block so they can be stamped together. This card design would also be great for birthday cards, thank you cards, and any other occasions.
I love this Secret Garden stamp set, partly because of the combination of two solid flower stamps and three outline flower stamps. They work so well together as this card shows. You can also just use one type of flower stamp if that fits your idea better. One example of that would be if you wanted to watercolor your flowers.
Of course, if you order the Secret Garden stamp set, you will want to order it as part of the Secret Garden Bundle. With that, you will also get the coordinating Secret Garden Framelits and you will save 15% on both!
With framelits, there is no need for tedious cutting! Just run them through your Big Shot. On this Mothers Day card, I used one flower with the framelit and popped that up with dimensionals to provide an accent, along with the Raspberry Ripple Stitched Satin Ribbon.
The card stock sizes are:
Raspberry Ripple 5 1/2" x 8 1/4", scored and folded
Midnight Muse 5" x 3 3/4"
Whisper White 4 3/4" x 3 1/2"
I mentioned how much I like books, the real "hold in your hand and physically turn the pages" kind. Books are one of my favorite gifts to give too. If you give books, include a pretty hand stamped bookmark with a personal message on the back. That will get used and your personal message might be read often too, so make your message heartfelt.
