A simple weaving idea for a pretty Stampin' Up! Wedding Card…..or Valentine Card!
Do you remember weaving place mats in first or second grade? Here we are using all those skills again! Who knew? Its even more fun this time around!
The Hearts Collection Framelits is used to make the heart. I love the pretty edging around the heart that the framelits make. The written stamping tutorial is below this stamping video, so if you prefer to read instead of watch, just keep on scrolling.
Stampin' Up! Woven Card Tutorial:
1. The base of the card is Midnight Muse cut 11" x 4 1/4", scored at 5 1/2", and folded.
2. The other layer is Pool Party Card Stock cut 4" x 5 1/4" and put through the Big Shot with one of the hearts from the Hearts Collection Framelits Die.
3. Cut 1/8" strips from two of the papers from the Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper.
4. Run Snail adhesive around the top of the heart on the back side. Attach paper strips of the same design next to each other, angling across the top of the hearts until the entire heart is covered. (Was that confusing? Just watch the video – sometimes I'm at a loss for words.)
5. Take the strips of the other paper pattern and weave them through the original strips, alternating which one is on top. Those will attach to the remaining snail at the top.
6. Attach all of the bottoms of the strips around the lower half of the heart with snail. The heart is finished!
7. Add some trim to the front of the card with yet another pattern from the Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper and a bit of the coordinating Midnight Muse 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon. Attach the top Pool Party Card Stock to the base of the card with dimensionals.
8. The card is finished so sit back and enjoy having made it! Now, who to send it to? Valentines Day, weddings, and anniversaries all come to mind, but also, just to let someone know you love them. I think we have every occasion covered there.
