This barn door card layout is such a fun one to make! The front panel opens up just like a barn door to reveal the inside of your card, adding a sweet interactive element.
What I especially enjoy about this design is how simple it really is once you get the hang of it. You can dress it up with patterned paper, keep it clean and classic, or add your favorite stamped images and sentiments to make it just right for any occasion.
It’s one of those layouts that looks a little extra special, but doesn’t take a lot of extra effort—and those are always my favorite kinds of cards to share with you!
It all starts with these basic layout. How adorable is this card featuring Easter Joy Designer Series Paper and Easter Time Mix & Match Ephemera Pack.
It opens like this..
Here’s how easy to make this fold:
- Score a 4-1/4” x 11” card base at 5-1/2” and fold. Measure 1-1/2” from the top edge of the card front and cut up until the score line as shown.
- Adhere a 4” x 5-1/4” cardstock piece on the inside of the card.
- Adhere a 2-1/2” x 5-1/4” DSP piece on the bottom half panel of the card front.
- Use a circle punch to cut out half a circle from the card front.
- Add your sentiment and accent pieces.
Now, let’s take a look at more card variations:
These two cards feature Delicate Dream Designer Series Paper. The sentiments are from the Greetings for All Mix & Match Ephemera Pack.
A very cute St. Patrick’s Day card featuring the Cute as A Bug Designer Series Paper. The sentiments are also from the Greetings for All Mix & Match Ephemera Pack.
