I would be very, very happy to pay the "postage due" on either of these cards, wouldn't you? Postage Due is actually the name of this stamp set and these cards were two of the winners in this month's Fine Line Card Contest!
On this elegant card by Cathy Seal, the image seems to pop right off the page. This Postage Due stamp set contains three small "postage" stamps and one large stamp containing all of the images you see above: the bike, the flower, the writing in French, and the number 3. Cathy embossed the large stamp in clear and then sponged over all of the images with Crumb Cake and Soft Suede. The variations in the sponging really add to the "Vintage French" effect!
The words, which match the elegance of this card, are part of the From the Heart stamp set. I love this saying by James Taylor: "The secret of life is enjoying the passing of time." Doesn't that fit riding a bike and enjoying the flowers? (Doing it in France sounds even better!)

And now, for a totally different look and feel, we have this beautiful card by Dee McNama! This card gives a modern take with the same Postage Due stamp set. I love the cut-out Dee created with one of the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. It goes off the paper instead of the usual "centered in the middle of the paper" look and it highlights the main part of the bike from the large stamp in Postage Due.
The Whisper White Card Stock has been put through the Perfect Polka Dots Folder. Notice how Dee used two layers of the Raspberry Ripple Stitched Satin Ribbon across the bottom of the card which gives it a nice balance and is a perfect landing spot for the three postage stamps in the Postage Due stamp set. I love the total effect of this card!
Now that it is truly winter in Minnesota, I can only dream about lazy bike riding while enjoying the beautiful flowers…….but dreaming is good! This set also makes me dream of travel and a simpler way of life! Take a break from thinking about the upcoming Holidays and dream a little dream with me. Play with this fun stamp set. You can always order it here.
