I would like to introduce you to Wing Nut, a monkey made out of recycled polyester! Do you remember the days when polyester was popular?
I
Karen and I love recycled things. We buy our clothes at thrift shops and our books at Half Price Books. Our home is furnished with things from our parents' homes and from garage sales. We have never owned a car with fewer than 100,000 miles on it.
Karen often says she likes things that "have a story behind them" even if we have to make up the story.
Its no wonder then, that we fell in love with Wing Nut at a church craft sale in Richfield, Minnesota! (I wish I had the name of the crafter to give her credit.)
We bought it for our grandson Hank's first birthday because we know his parents have a similar appreciation of both recycling and creativity. The fact that his name was "Wing Nut" (if you can read the tag) clinched the deal because our son was a huge fan of West Wing. (Did you know that followers of West Wing were called Wing Nuts?)
Isn't this a face for a mother to love?

Just hanging around with Wing Nut before he leaves our home to go live with Hank! You will have a good life, Wing Nut.

Oh Wing Nut! You are adorable and definitely will find a good home with the grandchild. It was wonderful to see you yesterday Tim!
You are so sweet!
