My favorite event of the summer is the State Fair. (stay with me here…)
Two years ago, I spend 35 hours there in 4 trips. Last year ….only half of the time and half the trips.
Even sadder, this year may be down to 10 hours and 1 trip. Thats too little time doing what I love!
However, the reason is because of my second favorite thing to do in the summer!
The first four days of the fair, Karen and I were on Gunflint Lake, an hour beyond Grand Marais.
It was absolutely beautiful and in many ways, the antithesis of the State Fair. It was quiet, cool, slow paced, with few people and no live music. (my #1 reason to go to the Fair)
I guess I like extremes!
