This is the season to curl up in a quilt and read a book. Even though its 45 degrees is Minnesota, I still take my quilt and lay outside in the hammock! I love the feel of crisp air with a warm sun shining.
I was a quilter long before I was a stamper. This is the Log Cabin quilt I made for my then boyfriend, now husband, Tim 38 years ago! It has seen lots of wear over the years and its still a nice soft quilt to curl up in.
I made this card to reflect my love of quilting. The Big Shot is great for making quilted cards and also for cutting fabric. Did you know that you can cut eight pieces of cotton fabric out at one time with the Big Shot – and all of them will be exactly the same size. What a time saver!
Back to the card. I used the Lattice Die and the Square Lattice embossing folder to achieve this look. The designer series buttons are tied with Baker's twine and I used the Beyond the Garden designer series paper. Pacific Point and Wild Wasabi look great together. The video below will show all of the steps. The words are from the Curly Cute stamp set.
I often say that I love both quilting and stamping for similar, yet different reasons. Quilting is slow, methodical and time-consuming, and stamping is quick and easy, but both give similar results: a chance to work with color and design and a way to show someone that you care.
Enjoy making a quilt card to reflect your hobby, or to give a friend who quilts, or to anyone to share the feeling of coziness that a quilt brings.
