Easel cards have always been one of my favorite fun folds because they look so impressive when they’re standing up, but they’re actually easier to make than you might think! I’ve shared quite a few easel card ideas over the years, and one of the things I love most about them is that there’s always another variation to try.
This easel pop-up design puts a fresh spin on the classic fold by adding a fun layered element that gives the card even more dimension and interest.
This card features the Bloom Boutique Designer Series Paper. The butterfly accents are from the All Aflutter stamp set and the circle die cuts are from the Spotlight on Nature dies.
It’s a great way to create a card that’s interactive, displays beautifully, and folds flat for mailing.
Here’s how easy it is to make!
- Score a regular 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” card base at 2-1/8” and 4-1/4” and Z-fold.
- Turn your card base vertically with the two smaller panels at the bottom, adhere two 1-7/8” x 5-1/4” DSP strips on the bottom two panels as shown. Then adhere a 4” x 5-1/4” DSP piece on the top panel.
- To create the mini card, score a 7” x 3-1/2” in half and fold. Adhere a 3-1/4” x 3-1/4” DSP piece on the front and a 3-1/4” x 3-1/4” Basic White piece on the inside.
- Adhere the mini card on the card base. Then adhere your accent pieces.
- Put dimensionals on the bottom half of a ¾” x 3” cardstock strip piece then adhere this on the bottom most panel (this will serve as the latch to prop up the mini card).
