We’re making one of those fun fold cards that I think every card maker needs in their collection. It’s simple, quick to make, and works for just about any occasion. Just a couple of folds and some pretty paper, and suddenly you have a card that feels a little extra special without a lot of fuss. These are the kinds of cards I find myself going back to over and over again—and I think you might too.
It’s just a Z-fold card, but the panel placement was moved to the center. It’s a simple twist on a classic fold that instantly makes the card feel different.
This fold is also a great way to make your Designer Series Paper shine. A few coordinating patterns, a strong focal image, and simple layering come together quickly for a card that looks impressive without needing complicated measurements or techniques. Sometimes just changing the placement of one panel is enough to give a familiar fold a whole new look!
Here’s how easy it is:
- Score a 8-1/4” x 5-1/2” card base at 4-1/4” and 7” and Z-fold.
- Adhere a 1” x 5-1/4” DSP strip on the center panel.
- Adhere a 2-1/2” x 5-1/4” DSP piece on the left panel. And adhere a 1-1/2” x 5-1/4” DSP piece on the right side of the inside of the card.
- Layer a 3” x 4” DSP piece onto a 3-1/4” x 4-1/4” coordinating cardstock. Adhere this on the center panel.
- Stamp your sentiment and finish off with embellishments.
