Fun fold cards are always a great way to add a little extra surprise to your cardmaking, and this pocket-style design is both pretty and practical! I love creating cards that are a little different from the traditional fold, especially when they have an interactive element that makes them feel extra special.
This card features a built-in pocket with an insert that tucks neatly inside, making it perfect for adding a personal note, gift card, or even an extra stamped message. It’s one of those folds that looks unique and impressive, but is actually very simple to put together.
The Homemade Sweetness Designer Series Paper pack is filled with hand-drawn designs that bring nostalgic, kitchen-crafted charm to your cards.
Here’s how easy to make this:
- Score a 12” x 5-1/4” DSP piece at 4” and 8” and accordion fold.
- Lay flat your DSP. On the left side, mark 1-3/4” from the bottom edge. Cut diagonally from the marked point up to the 8” score line as shown.
- Accordion fold the DSP again and put adhesive on the side and bottom edges to make the pocket.
- Adhere this on a 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” card base.
- Adhere a 3-1/2” x 4-1/4” cardstock piece on the inside of the card. Stamp your sentiment on a 3” x 4-1/4” Basic White piece and tuck inside the pocket.
- Add your accent pieces.
What I especially like about this design is how easy it is to customize. Designer Series Paper really shines on this project, and you can dress it up or keep it simple depending on the occasion. Change the colors, embellishments, or focal images, and you’ve got a completely different look every time.
This card features Lovely Blossoms Designer Series Paper. The accent pieces are fussy cut from the same paper.
