Do you remember a song by the Lovin' Spoonful called "What a Day for a Day Dream?" That was on my mind this morning so I titled this post: What a Day for Daydream Medallions! We are on a several day stretch of terribly hot weather here in Minnesota, and I know plenty of other states are experiencing the same, so I'm happy to be in my air-conditioned house day dreaming and creating cards!
Here is another version with one less layer:
Don't you love having stamp sets and Big Shot Dies that coordinate? That makes it so easy to create pretty cards like these.
The video tutorial below will show the steps.
On this card I stamped the Daydream Medallions (p. 117 #126465w $36.95, #126467 $26.95) in Midnight Muse and Raspberry Ripple directly onto the Birds of a Feather designer series paper (p. 164 #126899 $10.95). I like the "pattern on a pattern" look that gives. Then I used the Floral Frames Framelits Die and cut them out with the Big Shot die cutting machine.
I sponged the edges of each medallion piece and curled up the edges to give it more depth. The finishing touches on the Midnight Muse card are the piece of Raspberry Ripple card stock run through the Big Shot with the Chevron Embossing Folder (p. 189 #127749 $7.95), the Victoria Crochet Trim (p. 173 #118481 $6.95) and the three In Color Dahlias (p. 175 #127556 $7.95).
Daydream Medallions is a set of five stamps in widely varying sizes. I used four of them on them on the first card. The one I did not use is smaller than the others. You can imagine the different kinds of cards you could make with these! The Floral Frames Framelits are a set of 5 layering dies that fit each of the medallions. They can be used with this stamp set or on their own. Again, imagine the possibilities!
So, what are you day dreaming about creating today? Whether its this Daydream Medallions stamp set or something else that has caught your eye in the new Stampin' Up! Catalog, you can order it now and create your dreams with it in a few days…..so day dream away! What a day for Daydream Medallions!
