Here are four of my quick and easy versions of “the little black dress” of SU!
If you follow SU!’s blog, you have probably seen this technique of coloring in the Back to Black Designer Series Papers to create entirely new looks!
Click on my Facebook page here and you will see that article with cards!
(This card was made with a strip of DSP 1 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ colored and cut, words from the Bravo stamp set cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits. Even the rhinestones were colored with the Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities.)
But Wait……There’s More!
If you like these four quick and easy cards using this technique, be sure you have opted in on the form on the right and you will get four different samples in my newsletter coming out on Wednesday!
But Wait…..There’s More!
Be sure to come back to my blog tomorrow to see something I think is even cooler with this technique!!!!
On this card, I used Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry Blendabilites. I used the same size strip of DSP and cut along the chevron line on the bottom. I added a bit of Venetian Crochet Trim, a few rhinestones, and words from the Occasions 4 You stamp set.
On this card, I colored the flowers and leaves (also 1 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ strip), layered it on Daffodil Delight Cardstock, and added words from the #hello stamp set cut out with the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch!
And on this fourth card, I used just a strip of the DSP. I cut around the scallops and added stamps from the Choose Happiness stamp set.
Did you notice that, aside from the accents, there is no layering on any of these cards? That helps keeps these cards clean and simple (known as CAS cards), a look that I like a lot!
Remember……

Crystelle, Thanks so much for you comment about the lace!
Thanks, Dawn and yes, we crafters live in the world of “possibilites”, don’t we?
Really nice creation!
Hi Karen, Beautiful cards. Thanks for sharing @DearCreatives party! Theresa
I love that last one, Karen. Simple and rustic looking, an understated card for a friend is something I love to make.
Thank you for sharing at Thank Goodness It’s Thursday – it’s given me an idea to use a different, but similarly simple, idea for my next card.
Thank you for sharing this post at City of Creative Dream’s City of Links last Friday! I appreciate you taking the time to party with me. Hope to see you again this week 🙂
Sarah – I love your rufflesandrainboots name! I just visited your site and I really like it. I do a lot of crafting with my young grandchildren and you have great ideas there.
