Using pre-embossed paper like the Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper gives you lots of different coloring options. Here are just four of them!
1. Using a Brayer to Add Color
This adorable baby onesie is from Something for Baby and the Baby’s First Framelit Dies Bundle. Marina Mist ink was rolled onto the polka dot background with the brayer.
I show in the video below how I did that, but basically, on the card it really doesn’t matter – you just go for the color! I always start brayering off the page so there isn’t a real “beginning” look that shows where you started. Then you wipe off the top with a tissue and the embossed part really pops! (I used Tanglo Twist & Marina Mist for the onesie and tie.)
2. Using the Stampin’ Spritzer to Add Color
This was a fun card to do. I added a few drops of Calypso Coral ink refill to a bit of water in the Stampin’ Spritzer. I shook it up, and then sprayed it on the paper. I concentrated it on the lower left of the paper, but other than that, I didn’t care where it went. After it dries, you can keep adding more if you until you get the look you want.
That gave me a fun background for adding the lovely teapot and tag from the A Nice Cuppa Stamp Set & Cups & Kettles Framelits Bundle. The paper for the teapot is from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack.
3. Using Stamping Sponges to Add Color
This paper made me think of raindrops, so I sponged it in a variety of blue inks (with just a touch of pink) and added balloons with the Balloon Bouquet Punch and the Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper. Super quick and easy!
4. Using Aqua Painters to Add Color
This one didn’t make the video because I did it too late. I was looking at the wood grain textured paper in this pack and thought about making it look like weather wood – or an old tree.
I used the aqua painter with Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, and Chocolate Chip Ink Pads. (Just squeeze the ink pad and you will get enough color in the cover to paint with.)
Again, I went for a random look so it was easy to do! Adding the bear with a heart in his hand (from the Bear Hugs Stamp Set and Framelits Bundle) finished off the card.
Three Coloring Techniques for Color Me Irresistible!
I didn’t even get around to using the markers with this paper – so that is next on my list! And … I didn’t even use the other papers in this set – the stunning black and the bright colors, all with the shiny embossed surfaces! What a fun set of Designer Series Paper to play with!!!
Which of the techniques I did share is your favorite?
Today, there is quite a long list of supplies because of the variety in the four cards! The one thing they all have in common is the Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper. Have fun shopping!
