Make the Cutest Folk Art Bird Cards with this cute and simple design! All you need is a strip of paper.
These three birds are made with the Lighter than Air Designer Series Paper. The legs are made with one continuous line! The eyes are colored in with a marker and the feather on the tail are cut into thin strips.
You will make these whimsical, charming bird cards over and over. Change the Designer Series Paper and you have an entirely different bird.
What a fun crafty project to share with kids – and you already have what you need.
The legs on this bird are made with the same doodling lines used around the border of the card. It just so happened to look like this bird has a white shiny eye so I left it as is. This is the Stargazing Designer Series Paper.
Using the Trusty Tools Designer Series Paper for this bird made me think of a thank you card for someone who has helped with a project around the house! He has a paint brush in his beak. Think of what other things the bird could be carrying – a heart for instance! That would truly make a heartfelt thanks fold art card.
This bird has a black shiny gem for the eye.
All you need to make these cute birds is a strip of paper!
My favorite widths to use are 1/2″, 3/4″ or 1″. Those are actually the sizes used for the card with the three birds on it.
Make a half fold with the strip of paper.
Your piece will look like this.
Draw a line and then cut along the paper to make the head.
Cut the tail feathers like this.
You can slip another piece of paper with the same cut to make the bird feathers fuller.
