Ever looked at your scrap pile and felt a bit of crafters’ guilt? We are here to help!
Our torn paper technique is perfect for using up those smaller pieces of patterned paper. You can create scrappy strip cards that look intentionally artistic and completely one-of-a-kind. It’s a fantastic way to step up your card making game without stepping up the difficulty.
Notice how the torn off pieces of the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper are added to the inside of the card. (The flower and pot are from the Country Flowers Bundle.
You just need a few simple supplies. The end product is a lovely card that seems like it took forever to craft.
An easy variation is to make the card horizontal. These cards made with the Take to the Sky Suite use longer strips but are made the same way.
The Frames & Flowers Designer Series Paper has the die cuts included right in the paper pack.
So, gather your materials, and let’s start tearing! It’s surprisingly simple, and the results are stunning.
How to Make a Torn Paper Strip Card
Supplies:
If you want to step up your card by adding another layer this is what you will need. (Just two more pieces of cardstock)
1.Lay the two white pieces of cardstock side by side. You will be working on them at the same time.
2. Arrange the strips in the order you like. Tear each strip.
3. Use a sponge or sponge dauber to add Crumb Cake or Pecan Pie ink to the torn edges.
4. Layer the pieces on both sides of the cardstock and add your accent.

Start with striped paper!
The Country Woods Designer Series Paper has the strips built right in.
Tear it carefully and then sponge before adding the two pieces to your card.
