It’s always nice to have a go-to layout you can pull out when you want to make a card but don’t want to overthink it. This is one of those designs—quick, simple, and perfect for using what you already have on hand. One simple layout, a little Designer Series Paper, and just enough to make each card feel special!
And it certainly shows that you don’t need much to make something beautiful. I love that this layout uses just a piece of Designer Series Paper, a basic shape, and a sentiment to pull everything together.
Let’s start with the basic layout.

This is also a great layout when you want to make several cards at once. You can keep the design the same and simply switch out your papers, colors, and sentiments to create a variety of cards for different occasions. It’s minimal supplies, minimal effort, and maximum versatility.
Here’s the card template:
- Score a 4-1/4” x 11” card base in half and fold.
- Adhere a 4” x 5-1/4” mat layer on the card front.
- Flag cut/banner cut the ends of a 2” x 5” DSP piece. Adhere on the card front.
- Adhere your accent piece on the card front using dimensionals. Adhere the sentiment piece.
